40pc Indians unhealthy, one out of 10 obese

In what should set the alarm bells ringing, a study has claimed that 40 per cent people in the country are unhealthy, while one out of every 10 is obese.

Max Bupa Health Insurance, a standalone health insurance specialist in India, released the Bupa Health Pulse 2011 international survey, highlighting the insights on people`s attitudes and perceptions on chronic diseases.

The study said the age group of 25-34 looses productivity because of illness, more than other age group.

One of the major concern is lack of time for taking up health related measures.
