1. suffering from cervical spondylossis withneck stiffness, pain in neck, shoulder and upper part of right arm.
I am a strong believer in yoga and ayurvedic treatment , doing yoga and pranayam since more than seven
years with more emphasis on prescribed ASANS and Neck Exercises for cervical spondylosis but could not
get full and lasting cure.

Management of Cervical spondylossis requires a holistic treatment. Ayurveda Medicines and therapies, diet and mild exercises and yoga can bring back the normalcy in no time. Ayurveda treatment protocol is primarily focused on normalizing the vitiated vata dosha and to rejuvenate the affected tissue. Since this condition may also be related to stress.

Ayurveda therapies for cervical spondylosis

Ayurveda cautions not to use any stronger, vibrant massage therapies for this condition as it may further worsen the condition. Only a gentle application of warm medicated oil, depends on the condition and Prakriti of the patient the oil is selected followed by herbal steam application improves the condition in no time.

Kati Vasti / Greeva Vasti: Ayurveda recommends this therapy as a specialized care therapy for this condition. A bridge is formed on the back bone with flour power and warm medicated oil is filled for the period of 45-60 minutes. This helps the muscles and ligaments to relax and heal; improved blood circulation heals the tissues. This treatment usually advised for 14-28 days depends on the condition.

Ela Kizhi: Warm medicated oil application followed by warm Herbal bolus on the affected part improves the stiffness and pain. This therapy is recommended for 7-14 days depends on the condition

Mamsa Navara Kizhi: This is one of the specialized treatments for cervical spondylosis. Red meat, medicated rice, vata normalizing herbs processed with milk, made as a bolus. After the gentle application of the warm oil, this bolus is applied on the affected parts for 30-45 minutes without pressure. This treatment is very effective to heal any types of cervical spondylosis and with any degree of pain. This treatment usually suggested for 21-28 days depends of the condition.
These three above treatments is suggested alone or in combination depends on the condition.

Ayurveda recommendations for Cervical Spondylosis

a. Avoid – sour, salty foods and drinks, curd, deep fried foods, Maida, Suji, pulses and various by products of pulses
b. Take – Bitter gourd, drum stick and Neem flowers as diet helps
c. Wheat helps better than rice
d. Add more fibers and water as constipation may increase the condition
e. Avoid – Exposure to cold, cold water bath, violent exercises without proper guidance
f. Improve the milder physical exercises like walking, Surya Namaskara etc.

Yoga for cervical spondylosis

a. Padmasana (Lotus pose) for keeping the spine erect.
b. Tadasana (palm tree pose), helps rectifying postural defects
c. Yastikasana (Stick pose), helps to de-stress
d. Greeva Sanchalan asana (Neck movement) is the best to cure cervical spondylosis.

2. how can we increase our concentration power??
Improving concentration involves diet, exercise and nutritional factors. If the nutritional deficiencies are addressed correctly it solves the concentration, memory and attention deficiencies etc. medicines like Bramhi, Ashwaganda, Velvet Bean etc could help. Milk processed with fresh ginger – 100 ml a day preferably in empty stomach also helps. Make sure fresh fruits, vegetables, are part of diet. 1-2 egg white per day helps. Ayurveda medicines like Saraswatharishtam 10 ml twice or thrice daily improves the brain circulation and memory and concentration. Regular detoxification, simple yoga exercises and some herbs with diet and nutrition regulations can make a good difference in your concentration. Ayurveda herbal combinations like Manasamitram tablets, Vasa arishtam, Pancha Gavya Ghee, Kalyanaka Ghee etc can bring bigger difference in the concentration.

3. I am 49 years old. I hv snoring problem. When I eat sour thing then I hv problem in my throat. What I will do?
Snoring may be caused by enlarged tissues in the nose, mouth, or throat, Blocked nasal passages, deviated nasal septum, drinking alcohol and obesity. You may be able to treat snoring by making changes in your lifestyle and in the way you prepare for sleep.

a) Lose weight if you are overweight.
b) Quit smoking.
c) Sleep on your side and not your back.
d) Limit your use of alcohol and medicines such as sedatives before you go to bed.
e) If a stuffy nose makes your snoring worse, use decongestants to help you breath.
f) Yoga asanas for snoring- rikonasana (Triangle Pose), Simhasana (Lion Pose) Uttanpada asana, Sarp asana (Snake Pose) and Vajrasana (Diamond Pose)

The oil pulling therapy is very effective in treating snoring. Fill your mouth with olive/gingelly oil and keep it without moving for 10-15 minutes. Then spit the oil and gargle mouth with lukewarm water. Practice this every morning after brushing the teeth on empty stomach.

5. Dear sir Please suggest home remedies for lowering triglyceride’s.

High triglyceride is more a metablic problem than diet related. Antihypertensive, antidiabetic therapies etc indirectly rises the cholesterol levels in the blood.

Instead of taking medicine i would recommend simple changes in diet and some exercises can make you healthier. For example, spices have anti cholesterol properties. In India some of the tribal’s who usually consumes high fat/ saturated fat takes clove powder or clove tea once a day in empty stomach. In early 2002 i was asked to assess their health condition. Interestingly and surprisingly none of them had any high cholesterol, blood pressure or diabetes. Then with a group of western medicine experts and Pharmacologists we found out that clove was protecting them from all the problems even though their diet was highly fatty.

We have conducted simple clinical evaluation with clove powder as tea, capsule etc. In that we found that clove powder with milk in empty stomach is effective in reducing the high cholesterol and also stimulates the general hormonal functions.

I would recommend taking clove powder 2 gm a day with warm milk on an empty stomach to prevent high cholesterol and also normalises it.

15 ml of NONI Juice (Morinda citrifolia) with 100 ml of warm water on an empty stomach also controls high cholesterol in all ages and sexes.
