Ayurveda Q&A: Underweight? Here’s your cure

I am 30 years. I worked at Chennai for past One year. Due to water problem and stress, had a severe problem in hair. The color of hair changed to whitish and also have hair loss. Kindly give me a remedy as soon as possible. Now I am in Kerala.
Hair loss is not just a localised problem. It may be one of the symptoms of malabsorption and poor iron and folic acid levels in the body. Please take the following medications: Maha Thiktakam Kashayam tablets 3 nos twice daily 30 minutes before food with warm milk, Keshmani capsules 2 no thrice daily after food. Narasimha Thailam external application on scalp, Keshmani shampoo – for scalp wash. Follow this for 90 days. Add more water, fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet. Avoid salt, chillies, spicy foods and drinks. Sleep is an essential factor – get at least 7 hours of sleep daily.

How old is she? If she is above 40 years then it may be related to menopause. Drinking adequate amount of water could help. Application of warm oil followed by warm water bath after 45 minutes would help by improving the blood circulation and relaxing the muscles. Ayurveda recommends ‘abhyanga’ – Application of warm medicated oil followed by warm water bath for muscular relaxation and overall healing. I suggest she take oil bath with ‘Dhanvantharam Thailam’ – twice or every alternative days to keep the circulation and muscular system in check.

My husband snores a lot whenever he sleeps kindly suggest treatment.

Snoring is basically because of obesity or sometimes related to lack of physical exercise. Motivate him to do physical exercise and introduce the simple apple diet. That is take 2 apples/ pomegranate just before food three times a day for 90 days. This will reduce both weight and his snoring trouble swiftly. Food supplements like Noni Juice (DNA Noni), amla and aloe vera juice also helps.

My son is 21 year old and weighs 54 Kgs. and height is 5′ 8″ and he feels tired very soon.Kindly suggest remedy to increase the weight and overall health improvement.
His weight looks alright for this age. To improve his strength give him milk mixed with dry ginger powder twice daily on an empty stomach. This will improve his digestion and metabolism thereby keeping him active. As medicine, 30 ml of Bala Arishtam thrice daily after food is effective in bringing normalcy.

Medicines like Arogya Vardini vati (2 thrice daily after food), Arjin capsules (1 thrice daily after food), Navras pak or Aswaganda lehyam (1 tablespoon after food with warm milk twice daily) would help.

Taking oil bath once or twice a week will improve the blood circulation which in turn helps in healing and keeps the person fresh.
