Health recipe of the day: Spiced Peanut Flax Powder

Flax seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are good for the heart and protect bone health. Their nutty flavour makes them ideal as a salad dressing. You can also use them as a handy powder to go with your idli/dosa. Check out Uma Priya’s easy recipe:

1/2 cup peanuts
2 tbsp ground flax seeds powder
1/4 cup coriander seeds
1 tbsp black peppercorns, whole
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seeds


  1. Dry roast all the ingredients except chilli powder and salt. Keep aside to cool.
  2. When the contents become cold, grind them into a fine powder by adding chilli powder and salt.
  3. Enjoy this yummy powder with steaming hot rice and a dollop of ghee.
