This week’s answers:
1. I had a patella frature last year , got it repaired by surgery , there was no bending for the 2 months , now after physio the knee bending is 120 degree, still there is pain in knee and the wires are yet to be removed. I have started feeling pain in the other knee also , kindly advise
We need a fresh X-ray to say whether the pain is due to the wire. By now your fracture should have healed. Sometimes removal of the wire may reduce your pain. Better take a consult.
2. Doctor, what is the best way to prevent fractures caused by osteoporosis? My mother tripped at home and lost her balance. In that she has fractured her wrist. How to prevent this in future?
Only an X-ray can show the presence of a fracture. Calcium and Vit D supplements may help. No other medical prevention. Please ask her to be careful and not to sustain an injury.
